Lt. Tommy Arguijo is a Patrol Lieutenant for Lamesa Police Department and has approximately 15 years of Law Enforcement experience. He has been a Communications Officer, Detention Officer, Transport Officer, and Peace Officer during this time. He has spent 10 years in a supervisory role with two years being in a Sergeant Position and approximately 8 years in a Lieutenant position. Lt. Arguijo received an Associate's degree in Law Enforcement from South Plains College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Permian Basin. He received the FBI LEEDA Trilogy Award after completing the FBI LEEDA Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, and Executive Leadership Institute. He has a Master Peace Officer License, Basic Instructor Proficiency, Firearms Instructor Proficiency awarded by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. Lt. Arguijo completed instructor training courses in the following areas: Taser, PR-24 & MEB, License to Carry, and Krav Maga. Lt. Arguijo is an adjunct instructor through the Permian Basin Law Enforcement Academy where he has instructed various courses which include: New Supervisors Course, Field Training Officer, Verbal De-escalation, Crisis Intervention Training, Basic Instructor and Firearms Instructor.
