Participants will gain understanding and knowledge concerning new case law that has been enacted within the state of New Mexico. Law enforcement officers need to understand case law so that they can make their cases solid and hold offenders accountable for their actions. Officers also need to understand what is required of them so that they do not make bad case law and make the job harder on their fellow officers.

Deputy Chief, Belen Police Department
Robert Miller has 27 years of law enforcement experience, where he has served as a Patrol Officer, Wildland Arson Investigator, Patrol Lieutenant, and Deputy Chief of Police. During this time, he achieved instructorship in Defensive Tactics, Use of Force, and Dealing with the Mentally Impaired, as well as his General Instructor certificate. He has obtained his executive-level certification from the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.
