Leslie Whitham & Doug Showalter
Expertise:
Leslie Whitham, ENP has been in the public safety field for nearly 30 years, as a reserve police officer, dispatcher, trainer, supervisor and nationally recognized instructor. She has been involved in training for most of her career, educating employees at her home agency, and networking with Emergency Communications Officers from across the country. Leslie is a member of NENA’s Education Advisory Board, which focuses on providing educational opportunities to telecommunicators at every level of their careers. Leslie is known for her passion for the 911 community, and she values the connections she makes with public safety professionals both inside and outside the center. She believes that, as first responders, we must care for ourselves to provide the highest service to others. Leslie takes pride in giving back to the call-takers and dispatchers who give so much of themselves to the communities they serve.
Doug Showalter retired after a 30-year distinguished career with the California Highway Patrol. During his tenure he was chosen to supervise a complete restructuring of the statewide CHP Communications Training Academy, including revisions to several departmental manuals. His career was highlighted with countless awards and commendations. Over the past 17 years he’s established a reputation as a well-respected speaker.
