This course provides an essential update on significant Michigan legal changes from 2024-2025. Students will learn about new legislation covering diverse areas, including revised definitions for commercial airport sterile areas, updated requirements for highway construction closures, and the repeal of outdated statutes. This course explores amendments concerning vehicle transfers after death, the definition of noxious weeds, and protocols for school cardiac emergencies. Further topics include Municipal Emergency Services Authorities, crimes related to sexual contact with a dead body, and regulations for snowplows and speed limits.

Jason Pernick

Jason D. Pernick is currently an Assistant Prosecutor at the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office, a position he has held since 1992. Prior to this, he served as a police officer with the Troy Police Department from 1985 to 1992. His professional experience also includes roles as an investigator for Edward J. Mason Associates (1984-1985), a seasonal police officer in Ocean City, Maryland (1983), and a law clerk (1988-1990). Pernick earned his undergraduate degree in 1983 and his J.D. in 1989, both from Wayne State University.
