About the Course
This course educates correctional officers on ethics, values, and principles. It details the types of failures that can befall officers who lack a strong belief system. The goal of the course is to help officers recognize issues that can lead to dismissal, criminal charges, and even bodily harm from improper character and behavior within a facility.
Your Instructor
Fred Campbell
Dr. Fred Campbell has over 38 years of experience in Correction and Law Enforcement. He started as a Correction Officer in 1977. Since then, he has been Police Officer, Deputy Sheriff, Warden, Deputy Warden, Chief of Police, and an Instructor since 1980. He is currently the Director of Training for the Arkansas Department of Correction. He was the Chairperson of the State's Training Committee for over fifty thousand employees. He has been a guest instructor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for the Criminal Justice classes. In 1983, he was the lead instructor at Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy [ALETA] on the Use of Force and Self Defense courses. He taught agencies across the state including the State Police, on these subjects. He has written two books, Life's Lesson From Behind the Badge" and "Bodyguard to the Stars" and has been published in most major law enforcement journals. He is a member of the American Correction Association. He is also an ACA National Auditor inspecting prisons across America. He is a member of the Southern States Correction Association and North American Bodyguard Association and was the Regional Training Field Coordinator for the National Institute of Corrections."
