About the Course

From Baby Boomers to Gen Z, each generation brings its own set of values, communication styles, and work expectations to the emergency communications center. These differences can lead to tension—or they can become a powerful source of strength and innovation.

Sink or Swim: Navigating Generational Gaps in the ECC helps staff and supervisors build understanding across generations, avoid miscommunication, and foster respect and collaboration on the floor. Through guided discussion, self-reflection, and role-play, participants learn practical tools for bridging divides and improving workplace dynamics in real time.
