About the Course
Unbiased, transparent, and consistent use of force investigations are the key to
building the public’s trust. This course is a high-level overview of use of force
investigations that will cover the procedures for use of force investigations and
what an officer can do to ensure a transparent and consistent investigation.

Rocky Bigham
Rocky Bigham has been in law enforcement for nearly 15 years. Prior to law enforcement he received a BS degree in Business Management from the University of Alabama. He attended class 276 of the FBI National Academy. He has served his entire law enforcement career within a state law enforcement agency.
When he started his career, he was assigned to a drug unit and worked both undercover operations and overt. After nearly four years at this unit, he was then transferred to a regional office that specialized in everything from public corruption to use of force investigations to homicide cases. He spent eight years at this office and three of those years as a supervisor. He has since been transferred to Georgia's statewide intelligence unit.
He has obtained both a general instructor certification through the state and has received a certification through the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) as a Use of Force instructor. He also has a Force Science Certification and has been a part of countless other trainings in the area of use of force.
For over ten years, he has been the investigator and supervised the investigations into officer-involved use of force incidents as well as taught on practical application of use of force and how to conduct those investigations.
