About the Course
In this course, Tracy Ertl will prepare 9-1-1 telecommunicators to handle calls involving people they know or the field responders they work with. It emphasizes the inevitability of such calls and the importance of mental preparedness. The course covers topics like accepting the unacceptable, understanding vulnerability, and developing psychological armor through crisis rehearsal, behavioral rehearsal, and overlearning. It also teaches coping mechanisms and stress management techniques.

Tracy Ertl
Tracy Ertl served for 28 years in public safety communications with Brown County Public Safety Communications in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She has served as an adjunct law enforcement instructor for APCO and is the owner of Titletown Publishing, a publishing company specializing in survival and police titles. She is also the founder of HeroLight Training where she is a trainer.
